About Me

I was born and raised in East Africa. My parents were from India.  While I was in my teens, my parents and four siblings moved to the United Kingdom in 1972.  Our first home in the UK was a rental that had a restroom but had no shower or bathtub.  So the family had to go to a government run public bath once a week for a hot shower for a small fee with a set time limit.

In 1974 my Dad bought our first home and our family’s first ever car, a used station wagon Hillman Hunter. I went to college in the UK and became a professional banker and worked in the City of London for over 14 years.  During this time I met Nita, the love of my life, and in 1981, we were married.  We honeymooned in the US starting in Miami and working our way all the way to Niagara Falls.  It was this opportunity to see the US that sparked the quest for the American Dream in both of us.

I moved to Tampa Bay with my wife and son nearly 37 years ago; with little savings; however I had a big drive and a readiness to work hard. The economic opportunity, warm weather and safe environment were perfect for a young couple with a one year son and a new baby on the way.

I worked long and hard, sometimes between 16 to 18 hours a day for many years to give our kids the best education and opportunities possible.  Along the way I took a lot of risky decisions developing small businesses, land acquisition and constructing commercial properties, as well as buying properties at auction and then selling it at a profit once stabilized. Those decisions ultimately worked out and I was able to afford to purchase a lot in 2004 and build a dream home on Cachet Isle in 2011. I quickly met many kind and caring neighbors and fell in love with Cory Lake Isles with lush landscaping, so much wildlife, beautiful lake, paved streets and live guards. That is why I continue to put my heart and soul into the community and I want to ensure that others find these same attributes that initially attracted us here.
